Septic System Do’s & Dont’s
Aspen Shores HOA has a shared septic system. Following these guidelines will help keep the system in good shape and keep us from having costly repairs.
Don’t use the Toilet or a Sink as a Garbage Disposal
IF YOU HAVEN’T, WOULDN’T or COULDN’T EAT IT — DON’T LET IT GO INTO THE SEPTIC TANK EITHER FROM THE TOILET OR A SINK
Don’t Flush These Items in Your Toilet or Put them in a Drain or Sink:
- Baby wipes
- Dental floss
- Feminine hygiene products
- Condoms
- Diapers
- Cotton Swabs
- Cigarette Butts
- Matches
- Coffee Grounds
- Cat litter
- Paper Towels
- Napkins
- Medications
- Paints, pesticide or other hazardous chemicals
Use Care with These Items:
- Antibacterial soaps
- Cotton swabs
- Fats, oils or grease
- Ground food
- Hair
- Laundry detergent
- Plumbing drain products
- Washing machine lint
